Sept 1974 The Purina Checkerboard Store located in Newport, Vermont is purchased. (This is now the present location of Poulin Grain.)

Oct 1974 Decision is made to close and tear down the feed mixing system in North Troy, after 35 years of manufacturing grain at that site.

Jan 1975 Poulin Grain & Lumber becomes two separate companies. Steve and Peter form Poulin Lumber, Inc., purchase the building and lumber inventory in North Troy. Gaston and Jeff retain Poulin Grain, Inc., at its present location in Newport, Vermont. Decision is made to carry Blue Seal Feed exclusively.

1985 Peter Poulin purchases Steve's shares of Poulin Lumber and gains sole ownership of Poulin Lumber, Inc.

1985 Peter Poulin decides to purchase land and build a new retail lumber store on the Derby Road in Derby, Vermont. This will prove to be the largest location.

1994 Peter decides to purchase the old Greaves Building location in Hardwick, Vermont. This location will complete the circle of coverage in the State of Vermont.

1996 Cory Poulin, Peter's son, comes on board.

1998 Peter Poulin decides to sell part of his business to Cory. Cory is the 4th generation Poulin to maintain the company's strong industry presence.

2002 Cory's brother, Christopher, becomes a partner.
